Magic Kindgom

Today we visited the happiest place on earth, or at least Walt Disney wants us to believe it. I must say, after our day, I would agree! This is actually Emerson's 3rd time to DisneyWorld but this year we could actually go on quite a few more rides as Avalynn was older. We started off our day a little later (arrived at the park at 10:30am) as we knew we were in it for the long haul, or the fireworks show at 10pm. After handing over way too much money at the gate admission, all cares were thrown away as we first entered main street. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas which made it seem even more magical. The kids were in awe and took in all of the sights.

Our first stop was the Tea Cup ride, mainly because it posted only a 10 minute wait line and an hour and a half had already elapsed since we actually left our hotel room and parked and loaded on a tram to get to the monorail and through security... exhausting!  By the end of the Tea Cup ride Emerson got the hang of turning the handle and I was glad when it stopped as us adults were a bit dizzy.

Next we headed to It's a Small World which I think was Avalynn's favourite ride of the day.  I had told her there were many dolls singing and dancing and that had her hooked.  When we went through the last good-bye sign room she kept saying 'again, again!'.

Emerson's favourite ride of the day was the Magic Carpet ride which we went on twice.  The boys sat in the front and Emerson would control the button to fly us higher in the sky - tons of fun!  We watched the afternoon parade where Emerson was happy he could identify some of the characters and Avalynn was enthralled with all the 'princesses'.  I had forgot the scary parts of Winnie the Pooh and Avalynn was not happy on that ride so she got lots of cuddles and I pulled out her soother because I felt bad we took her on that one.

The evening Electric Parade was really neat - one Jon and I enjoyed probably more than the kids.  The fun day finished off with an incredible light projection show on the castle and amazing fireworks.  When do we ever get to watch fireworks where its not absolutely freezing outside?  What a fun day and memories I hope we will all treasure for a lifetime!

She's trying to figure out if she can reach the spinner that Emerson was turning

Cuddles on Winnie the Pooh, I think Avalynn's eyes tell it all...
Emerson loved the Mickey's Philharmonic 3D movie (his first one ever)
