On Saturday Jon and Emerson went out with a friend of his
from college and his 4-year old son so the girls hit the mall, after all it is
Black Friday weekend! I think this was
the largest mall we have ever seen, Sawgrass Mills. We were exhausted just looking at it and the
crowds were too overwhelming for us – I think I accidentally hit a few too many
shins with the double stroller.
On Sunday Jon played at a church of God in Cooper City. The kids, mom, and I went to the second
service and it was such a lively worship service complete with the Young Adults
choir to backup Jon during his worship time.
The service was 2 hours long, a bit on the long side which most of it we
spent in the nursery. We enjoyed a lunch
with the worship pastor and his family and then back to the hotel for a nap
before dinner.
The weekend ended too quickly and today we dropped off mom
at the airport in the morning and spent a few hours exploring Hugh Birch State
Park. I read about this state park
online and it was a lot of fun. We only
ran into one other couple (Canadians from Halifax) which was a nice change from
the busy Thanksgiving Long weekend traffic we experienced over the past 4 days
previous. We took a tunnel to get to the
beach and then spent some time at both playgrounds and had a nice picnic lunch
overlooking the canal and very large houses complete each with their own yachts. It was back to the hotel as Jon had a 2-hour
drive to his Celebrate Recovery concert in Stuart for the evening.
